How do I order your original linocut prints?​

Original linocut prints are available in my Online Shop. If you're unable to order online, please contact me

Christmas Delivery Dates 

To ensure your order arrives before Christmas, please place it as soon as possible.

By post: Last orders 3pm Wednesday 17th December 

For York pickup: Last orders at midnight on Sunday, 21st December. 

 

Non-Christmas Deliveries

Orders placed after 12pm on 23 December will be posted on 5 January.

How much does delivery cost?

Standard delivery

£0.00 - £20.00 Packing & delivery is £2.50

We use Royal Mail 2nd Class service.​

£20.01 - £25.00 Packing & delivery is £3.50

We use Royal Mail Tracked 48. No signature is required, and your order should fit in your letterbox.

£25.01 - £100 Packing & delivery is £5.50

We use Royal Mail Tracked 48 with signature service. A signature is required.

£100.01 - £300.00 Packing & delivery is £11.00

We use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm service. A signature is required. 

More than £300 Packing & delivery is £15.00

We use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm service. A signature is required. 

Premium delivery

£0.00 - £20.00 Packing & delivery will be £3.50
We use Royal Mail 1st Class service.

£20.01 - £25.00 Packing & delivery is £4.50

Click & collect from my York studio - FREE

Orders can be picked up from my studio in Holgate, York. Please allow 3-5 working days. I will contact you when your order is ready to collect. 

Why don't you offer free postage? 

There’s no such thing as free postage. I believe in transparency and not hiding postage costs. I believe it’s fairer to my customers to offer one price for my original prints, whether directly from my studio, at a print fair or event, in an art gallery, or online. My P&P prices include Royal Mail postage and a little towards the Lil Packaging I buy to ensure my linocut prints reach you safely. 

How long will my order take?

Please allow 3-5 working days for your order to be prepared and posted. Normally, orders are posted within 1-3 days. 

Orders are posted within 7 days, when I'm occasionally out of the studio on research trips. In this instance, I will note my next posting date on the top bar of my website. 

Next-day delivery in the UK

If you need your order urgently for a special occasion, please email michellehughesdesign@outlook.com or call 07808 472379.  Although I am a one-person business, I can usually accommodate. For urgent orders, I use Royal Mail Special Delivery. 

Is there a minimum order value?

The minimum postage order is £20. This can be two different card pack designs. For click-and-collect from my studio, there is no minimum order.

​How is my order packaged?

Your order will be shipped flat in protective packaging to ensure safe delivery.

Which destinations do you ship to?

I currently ship to England, Scotland and Wales through my website. 

Do you ship to the EU and Northern Ireland? 

New GPSR regulations will take effect on 13 December 2024. I cannot ship to the EU and Northern Ireland from this date. Complying with these regulations is likely not financially viable for a small business. I’ll update this page as the guidance becomes clearer.

​Do you post orders to other destinations?

Please get in touch with me if you want to order a linocut print to ship to other destinations, and I will check the costs for postage and packaging. Overseas orders must be taken to the Post Office for the customs forms to be checked. I’m not always able to do this at busy times of the year. ​Please note that any customs fees or import charges incurred are the buyer's responsibility.

Returns, exchanges and refunds

I accept returns and exchanges if the items are returned to me in perfect condition. Please contact me within 14 days of delivery and ship the items back within 30 days. 

 

We do not provide free returns. You need to cover the cost of returning the item to me. Returned goods must be in the original packaging and packaged carefully for return postage. I recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service to return goods, ensuring proof of delivery and that the goods are insured in transit. I am not responsible for any losses incurred during the return transit.

 

Refunds for goods will be issued to the original payment method used to purchase them. Refunds will be issued for the cost of the goods only, not any shipping charges. 

We do not offer exchanges unless products are deemed faulty. If your product arrives damaged, please contact me at michellehughesdesign@outlook.com. I will replace any damaged items.

 

Conditions of return: 


Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

What is an original print?

All of the linocut prints in my shop are original prints. They are printed by hand and are limited, signed, and numbered editions. They are not digital reproductions or giclee prints.

 

Linocut printing is a handmade process, and variations in colour and detail will occur. This adds to the individuality of each print. Read more in my linocut prints and courses FAQ page.

My greetings cards are all digitally printed reproductions of my original prints.

Are you looking for a specific print that is not in my shop?

Please get in touch with me if you are looking for a specific print from my printmaking page that is unavailable in my shop. I may have limited stock with slight colour variations.
