Commercial Commissions

I create hand-printed linocut artwork and digital linocut-style illustrations for bespoke commercial commissions. Inspired by the British countryside and natural world, my work focuses on coastal landscapes, wildlife, and botanical subjects, rooted in traditional linocut and printmaking.

With over 30 years of experience in the design industry, I bring a strong understanding of how visual storytelling connects with audiences. I’m used to working closely with briefs, balancing creative ideas with practical requirements, and delivering artwork that is both distinctive and effective.

Previous clients and projects include the National Trust at Sutton Hoo, the BASF Rawcliffe Bridge Award for Sustainability, and York Hospital ICU.

If you’d like to commission a piece of artwork or illustration for a specific project, I’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch to discuss your ideas.

If you’re interested in licensing existing artwork, you can find more information on my licensing page.

The Rawcliffe Bridge Award for Sustainability - BASF in Agriculture

Linocut print illustration for BASF’s sustainability competition. The Rawcliffe Bridge Award for Sustainability celebrates farmers' work to reach their sustainability targets and recognises how growers will improve sustainability in the next twenty years.

The illustration is composed of 16 individual linocut prints. Each quadrant of the plate depicts a season in the farming year and the natural cycle of farming: cultivation, planting, protection and harvesting. See how I created the linocut prints in my Rawcliffe Bridge Award blog

National Trust’s Sutton Hoo

A series of 12 linocut print illustrations was created using the linocut technique. They illustrate the story of Sutton Hoo from the Anglo-Saxons to the present day, including archaeology, history, human interaction, landscape, nature, and local wildlife. See how I created each linocut print in five Sutton Hoo blogs and That's Brave's case study.

Commissioned by Design by Journal. Graphic Design by That's Brave.

Intensive Care Unit at York Hospital

A series of 8 linocut style illustrations for the ICU at York Hospital. Each illustration was inspired by British wildflowers and medicinal plants related to healing and well-being. Much of the inspiration was from photos I’ve taken in my garden and during walks through meadows and woodlands. Each illustration was drawn digitally in the linocut style, using a vibrant, uplifting colour palette.

Commissioned by The Arts Team at York and Scarborough Hospitals.*

Footmarks: A Journey into our Restless Past’ by Jim Leary

A series of 10 linocut print illustrations for Jim Leary's new book, ‘Footmarks'. See how I created the linocut prints in my Linocut Prints for Footmarks blog
