On Friday I went along to the York Women Mean Business 2017 Celebration Awards. I’m a member of the Facebook group which is a great support and a place to share ideas.
Back in July Tracy Burleigh, who runs the group, gave us all the opportunity to enter awards to celebrate women in business in York. I though why not, a bit fun.
I’d not given it a lot of thought since and went along on Friday evening. I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people there but I quickly spotted some familiar faces.
So as the awards started it was a complete and utter surprise that my name was called out as I’d been short listed for ‘New & Rocking It’. Having started my business just 18 months ago, I’m absolutely delighted.
On the form we filled in for the awards we were asked 'champagne or hot chocolate?', so hence my prize as a mug and hot chocolate. The beautiful flowers where snaffled from the tables at the end (we were told to) and are grown locally my the wonderful Ducks and Daffodils.
