Bring the tranquillity of the Lake District into your home with this original hand-printed linocut of Buttermere Lake and Crummock Water, captured in soft, layered tones of green and blue.
Inspiration
Inspired by a weekend spent exploring the fells of the Lake District, this piece reflects the calm beauty of Buttermere as seen from the climb up Haystacks, Alfred Wainwright’s favourite fell. From the summit, you can see sweeping views of Buttermere and Crummock Water, surrounded by rugged mountain peaks.
How It’s Made
Each print is created using the multi-block linocut process. Six individually hand-carved blocks are carefully registered and hand-printed in my York studio using professional oil-based inks. Each print is slightly unique due to the hand-printing process.
