An original hand-printed linocut of Cat Bells, one of the Lake District's most popular and recognisable fells. Overlooking Derwent Water near Keswick, this striking print captures the distinctive shape of the mountain and the dramatic landscape that makes this part of the Lake District National Park so memorable.
Inspiration
This print was inspired by a few days spent walking in the Keswick area of the Lake District. Staying at a campsite in the Newlands Valley, I walked to the foot of Cat Bells before making the short but steep climb from Hawes End. The reward is breathtaking panoramic views across Derwent Water, the surrounding fells and the beautiful Borrowdale Valley.
How it's made
This Cat Bells print is created using a traditional multi-block linocut technique. Five individually hand-carved lino blocks are carefully aligned and hand-printed in my York studio using high-quality oil-based inks.
Available with or without a printed sky.
