Celebrate one of the most iconic sounds of the Yorkshire Dales with this hand-printed linocut artwork featuring the largest European wading bird, the Eurasian curlew. With its distinctive long, downcurved bill and evocative call, the curlew is a delight to hear while walking in the Yorkshire Dales during the spring and summer months.

The Curlew is found on estuaries in winter and on moorlands where these remarkable birds breed. Set against a teal blue background, this limited-edition linocut print captures the spirit of the coast. Perfect for walkers, bird lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

How it’s made

Each print is carefully crafted using traditional multi-block linocut techniques. Printed by hand in Yorkshire, it involves three hand-carved lino blocks, one for each colour. Each colour is printed with oil-based ink, with several days of drying between layers.
