This atmospheric Yorkshire Dales landscape print captures the dramatic limestone cliffs and winding path leading into Gordale Scar. A lovely piece of original Yorkshire art for anyone who loves the Yorkshire Dales, walking and the great outdoors.
 
Inspiration
Gordale Scar is a spectacular limestone ravine about a mile northeast of Malham in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, North Yorkshire. The path winds between towering, overhanging limestone cliffs that rise more than 100 metres above the ravine, towards the waterfall at its head.
 
I camped here for a weekend and loved waking up to this view. It was the perfect spot for an early morning cuppa, surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the Yorkshire Dales.
 
How it’s made
Each print is individually hand-printed in my York studio using green oil-based ink on soft white acid-free paper. The design is hand-carved into lino and printed by hand in small batches, making every print part of a limited edition.
 
As each print is made by hand, slight variations in ink and texture may occur. These small differences are part of the character of an original linocut and make each print unique.

How to Care for Your Original Linocut Print
Each original print is hand-printed with professional, high-quality oil-based inks on acid-free paper and picture mounts. While the inks have excellent lightfastness, for longevity, hang your print away from direct sunlight and high-humidity areas, or frame it with UV-protective glass.
