An original handprinted linocut featuring the iconic Kilburn White Horse in the North York Moors National Park, near the village of Kilburn in North Yorkshire.
 
This artwork captures the view along Carr Lane as it climbs out of Kilburn village towards the famous Kilburn White Horse carved into the hillside. Printed in layered tones of green, with soft grey details including a cottage and traditional millstone, the piece reflects the quiet character of this much-loved Yorkshire landscape.
 
Each print is individually handprinted, giving every piece its own subtle variations in tone.
 
Inspiration
The Kilburn and Sutton Bank area is one of my favourite places for walking and cycling. Many of my visits include a route past the White Horse, around Gormire Lake, and along the Cleveland Way, where the expansive views stretch across the Vale of York. This print was inspired by those peaceful North Yorkshire landscapes and changing countryside colours.
 
How it’s Made
This Kilburn White Horse print is created using a traditional multi-block linocut technique. Five individually hand-carved lino blocks are carefully aligned and handprinted by hand in my York studio using high-quality oil-based inks.

Linocut printing is a handmade process and variation in colour and detail will occur. This adds to their individuality by making each print unique.
 
All prints come unframed in an acid free mount, wrapped in cellophane.
 
Each print is individually hand signed and numbered.
