An original hand-printed linocut of Littondale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, capturing the peaceful beauty of one of Yorkshire's most unspoilt dales.
 
Inspiration
This print was inspired by a walk from Kettlewell to Arncliffe through the heart of Littondale. The view looks towards the picturesque village of Arncliffe, with Cowside Beck winding its way through the valley between West Moor and the striking limestone cliffs of Yew Cogar Scar.
 
The steep road climbing towards Malham Tarn is one of my favourite cycling routes in the Yorkshire Dales. As it rises above the valley, it reveals breathtaking views of the surrounding limestone scenery, dry stone walls and rolling hills. I wanted to capture the quiet beauty and sense of space that make Littondale such a special place to explore on foot or by bike.
 
How it's made
This Littondale print is created using a traditional multi-block linocut technique. Depending on the colourway, three or four individually hand-carved lino blocks are carefully aligned and hand-printed in my York studio using professional-quality oil-based inks.

Hand-printed onto 200 gsm soft white, acid-free paper.

Mounted Original Linocut Print: Supplied unframed, mounted in a soft white, acid-free mount with a protective backing board, and wrapped in cellophane for protection.

This original print is created using professional, high-quality oil-based inks, along with acid-free paper and mounts. While the inks have excellent lightfastness, I recommend hanging your print out of direct sunlight. Read more on my FAQs page.
