An original Nuthatch linocut print, hand-printed in rich teal blue.
 
The nuthatch is one of Britain’s most distinctive woodland birds, often spotted darting up and down tree trunks in search of insects. With its neat pointed bill, bold eye stripe and agile movements, it has a real sense of character. I’ve chosen to print this design in teal blue, simplifying its familiar markings into a more graphic, stylised linocut while keeping the spirit of the bird intact.
 
Inspired by the small flashes of movement you catch in woodland walks, this hand-printed linocut captures the nuthatch’s lively charm in a simple, striking design. A lovely piece for bird lovers, gardeners and anyone who enjoys British wildlife.
 
How it’s Made
Each print is individually hand-printed in my York studio using teal blue oil-based ink on soft white acid-free paper. The design is hand-carved into lino and printed by hand in small batches, making every print part of a limited edition.
 
As each print is made by hand, slight variations in ink and texture may occur. That’s part of what makes every piece unique.

How to Take Care of Your Original Print
This original print is created using professional, high-quality oil-based inks, along with acid-free paper and mounts. While the inks have excellent lightfastness, I recommend hanging your print out of direct sunlight. Read more on my FAQs page.
