An original hand-printed linocut of the Sycamore Gap Tree in Northumberland, inspired by one of Britain’s most iconic and beloved landmarks. The print is available hand-printed in green or slate blue.

Inspiration

The Sycamore Gap Tree, which stood beside Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland, was one of the most photographed trees in the UK before it was tragically felled in 2023. Nestled in a dramatic, U-shaped dip in the landscape, it became a symbol of the natural beauty and heritage of northern England.

This print is based on a photograph I took during a visit to the site, just a few months before the tree was lost.

How it’s Made
