Inspiration
The Eurasian wren is one of Britain’s smallest birds, and often heard singing from garden hedges and stone walls. I’m lucky to see wrens regularly in my own garden here in York. Although wrens are one of the UK's most common garden birds, they're hard to spot. I often hear their distinctive loud chirping and singing before I spot them in a hedge. One spring, a pair nested in my garden, and I spotted the two juvenile wrens waiting to be fed from my studio window.
How It’s Made
Each print is individually hand-printed in my York studio using indigo blue oil-based ink and soft white paper. I re-ink the lino block for every print, so each one has its own subtle variations and character.
