An original hand-printed linocut of a wren perched on a post, printed in green ink. The Eurasian wren is one of Britain’s smallest birds, and it is often heard singing from garden hedges and stone walls.
I’m lucky to see wrens regularly in my own garden here in York. Although wrens are one of the UK's most common garden birds, they're hard to spot. I often hear their distinctive loud chirping and singing before I spot them in a hedge. One spring, a pair nested in my garden, and I spotted the two juvenile wrens waiting to be fed from my studio window.
