Capture the beauty of the Yorkshire Coast with this original linocut print of Robin Hood’s Bay, hand-printed in rich tones of indigo blue and teal. This artwork evokes the charm of the village and coastline, making it a perfect gift or keepsake for walkers, hikers, and sea lovers alike.
Whether you’ve followed the Cleveland Way or simply fallen for the rugged charm of this coastal village, this print brings a sense of place and memory into your home.
Inspiration
Robin Hood's Bay is a fishing village on the Yorkshire Coast. The inspiration for this print comes from a walk along the Cleveland Way on the Yorkshire Coast. It’s one of my favourite walks. Starting at Ravenscar, the coastal path follows the cliff tops to Robin Hood’s Bay.
How it’s made
This print is made using traditional linocut printmaking techniques. Each colour layer is carved from a separate lino block, using the multi-block technique. The final print uses four hand-carved lino blocks. Each one is printed by hand in my York studio using high-quality, oil-based inks.
